Using Tapaculo Lite for the first time

1. Introducing the Tapaculo Lite program.

Thank you for purchasing the DEKIST Radionode family.

Tapaculo Lite software is a free program that allows you to manage the sensor data measured by the Radionode data logger on your PC. 

You can manage monitoring up to 1 channels by interworking with the radio node sub-models UA2X, UA5X, UA17X, and RN128X, and you can check the sensor data in real time (according to the set time interval) by using it as a dashboard function. In case of deviation from the set value, the background of the corresponding channel on the dashboard changes to red and the PC alarm is designed to work at the same time to induce an immediate response to monitoring.

In addition, it is possible to inquire past data without interrupting current measurement, and provides a new monitoring experience by providing powerful chart and report output functions.

2. Install Tapaculo Lite program

Tapaculo Lite software supports Windows 7, 8, and 10 operating systems and Mac OS.

3. Manage your project

With a project,
A file that stores and manages sensor data.

When you run Tapaculo Lite, a screen with projects and recent projects is displayed on the left and right. It is designed to move to the next level by creating a project or selecting an existing project.

You must have a project to accept data. Create a project of your choice or open a project you have already created. After registering the device in the project, the data of the corresponding device is managed.

▣ Create Project : Start a new project.
▣ Open Project : Opens a saved project.

3-1. Create Project

1. On the Tapaculo Lite start screen, click Project on the left. CreateProjectClick .

2. Enter a new file name in the Create Project setting window. A screen consisting of the device list, the selected device, and the button to create a project appears.

3. Check the address of the device you want to register in the Searched Device List and click it.

4. Click the Time Interval button to select the desired measurement period and click the [+ Add Device] button to add a device. Repeat the above method for adding devices.

5. Click the [OK Create Project] button to complete the project creation.

Detailed function

▣ Time Interval : Select the period to read data from the device. You can select from 1 second to 10 minutes. This cycle is the same as the data storage cycle. A cycle that is too short can dramatically increase the file size of your data.

▣ Add Device / Remove Device: Add or delete devices.

▣ Create Project: After selecting the device, click the corresponding button. After the project creation process is over, you will be taken to the dashboard screen.

▣ Manual Add: In case of network equipment, it may not be searched automatically. At this time, manually input the IP address of the device to read the information.

* If the device is not checked immediately, check if the device is connected to the PC and click the Refresh Device button to refresh the device list.

* The searched device list is divided into RN17x MAC address, internal IP address and port number method and UAxx serial number and port number method. It can distinguish between a connection through a transmitter and a direct connection to a PC USB port.

3-2. Adding and removing devices while the project is running

• Click Project> Add/Delete to go to the device registration window.
• After selecting the device by clicking on the Searched Device List, click the [Add Device] button to add the device to the project.
• After selecting the device by clicking on the Selected Device List, click the [Remove Device] button to remove the device from the project.

* Cannot be used while the data storage function is in operation. If the REC button is pressed, press the STOP button to temporarily stop recording.

3-3. Project autoload function

If you click Project > Auto Load Recent Project and check it, the most recently executed project is automatically opened when Tapaculo Lite is launched.

3-4. Automatic data recording function

If you check by clicking Project> Auto Start Record, when Tapaculo Lite is executed, the REC button is automatically pressed and data saving starts.

3-5. Deleting a project

Project deletion function is not provided on the user screen. However, if you delete both the dat and tcp extension files of the project name from the working directory after completing the related actions such as data backup of the project, the list will disappear from the Recent Projects list.
