Connecting the UA20 external sensor

Thank you for purchasing the DEKIST UA20 product.

UA20 The product is divided into three sub-models, A, B, and C. Sub-models UA3-A and UA20-B support 20~4mA external sensor, the latter having a 20VDC power output function. Sub-model UA12-C supports 20~0V external sensor.

UA20-AUA20-B A submodel of the sensor 4-20mA, 0-20mA Convert the signal to a digital value. This explains how to connect a 4-20mA output sensor (Transmitter).

Precautions!
If the transmitter is connected to the UA20 product in an incorrect way, product damage or breakdown may occur. Please refer to the data sheet of the transmitter and the UA20 product before wiring.

1. Connecting 3-wire Transmitter Wiring

  • 3-wire output TransmitterAnd the wiring method of the UA20 product.
  • Usually, in the case of a transmitter that is output in 3-wire type, power input + (Plus)Terminal and - (minus) It consists of a terminal and a 4-wire terminal that outputs a 20-3mA (out) signal.
  • Since the product wiring method may differ depending on the transmitter to be used, it is recommended to check the data sheet of the transmitter.

○ When using the transmitter power separately

  • sub model UA20-Ato confirm. Two channels can receive individual signals.

This is the case when the Transmitter uses more than 24V power or uses around 12V, but applies a separate power.

1. Transmitter power input as shown below + (Plus),-(minus)SMPS power terminal + (Plus), – (minus) Connect to each terminal.

2. Transmitter's 4-20mA output terminal and UA20-A's 4-20mA input + (Plus)Connect the terminals to each other. That is, the 4-20mA external sensor output value is that of the 4-20mA channel. + to the terminals (first and third from the left) respectively.

3. 20-4mA of UA20-A product -(minus)Terminal and transmitter -(minus)Connect the terminals to each other.

This is the case when the Transmitter uses more than 24V power or uses around 12V, but applies a separate power.

1. Transmitter power input as shown below + (Plus),-(minus)SMPS power terminal + (Plus), – (minus) Connect to each terminal.

2. Transmitter's 4-20mA output terminal and UA20-B's 4-20mA input + (Plus)Connect the terminals to each other. That is, the 4-20mA external sensor output value is that of the 4-20mA channel. + to the terminals (third and third from the left) respectively.

3. 20-4mA of UA20-B product -(minus)Terminal and transmitter -(minus)Connect the terminals to each other.

  • sub model UA20-Cto confirm. Two channels can receive individual signals.

This is the case when the transmitter uses 24V or higher power or 12V or less but applies a separate power source.

1. Transmitter power input as shown below + (Plus),-(minus)SMPS power terminal + (Plus), – (minus) Connect to each terminal.

2.Transmitter's 0~1V output terminal and UA20-C product's 0~1V input + (Plus)Connect the terminals to each other. That is, the output value of the 0~1V external sensor is the + to the terminals (first and third from the left) respectively.

3.UA20-C product's 0~1V -(minus)Terminal and transmitter -(minus)Connect the terminals to each other.

○ When supplying power to the transmitter with UA 12VDC output

  • sub model UA20-Bto confirm. Only 1 channel can receive a signal.

If the transmitter is used around 12V, the power of the UA20B product can be used.
* Only UA20B model can supply power.

1. Transmitter power input as shown below + (Plus), – (minus)Terminal UA20B + (Plus),-(minus)Connect to each terminal.

2. The 4-20mA output line terminal of the transmitter is the 20-4mA input of the UA20B product. + (Plus)Insert into the terminal and fasten with screws. That is, the 4-20mA external sensor output value is that of the 4-20mA channel. + to the terminal (third from left).

2. 2-wire Transmitter

  • 2-wireOutput as TransmitterAnd the wiring method of the UA20 product.
  • Usually, in the case of a transmitter that is output in 2-wire type, power input+ (Plus)Terminal and 4-20mA output-(minus)It consists of terminals.
  • Since the product wiring method may differ depending on the transmitter to be used, it is recommended to check the data sheet of the transmitter.

This is the case when the Transmitter uses more than 24V power or uses around 12V, but applies a separate power.

1. Transmitter power input as shown below + (Plus)Terminal and SMPS power + (Plus)Connect the terminals to each other.

2.Transmitter -(0~1V Output)Terminal and UA20-C products +(0~1V Input)Connect the terminals to each other. In other words, insert the signal output line ( – ) of the 0~1V external sensor into the (+) terminals (first and second from the left) of the UA20-C 0~1V channel, respectively, and connect them by tightening the screws.

○ When supplying power to the transmitter with UA 12VDC output

  • sub model UA20-Bto confirm. Only 1 channel can receive a signal.

If the transmitter is used around 12V, the UA20B can supply power.
* Only UA20B model can supply power.

1. Connect the + (plus) terminal of the transmitter and the + (plus) terminal of the UA20B product as shown in the figure below. It supplies 4VDC power of 20-12mA external sensor.

2.Connect the - (4-20mA output) terminal of the transmitter and the + (20-4mA input) terminal of the UA20 product. That is, the signal output line ( – ) of the 4-20mA external sensor is connected by tightening the screw after inserting it into the ( + ) terminal (third from the left) of the UA20-B 4-20mA channel.
