Film type temperature sensor correction value in RN400

Thank you for purchasing the Radionode film type temperature sensor RG41.

✓ The sub-models are as follows.
  RN400-T2 EX (Multi-Function Temperature Transmitter)
RN400-H2EX (Multi-function temperature and humidity transmitter)
  RN400-T2PS
  RN400-H2PS

Designed as a wire in the form of a film, it can be used excellently in places where sealing performance is required, such as refrigerators or gas chambers.

I will explain how to use the film type temperature sensor in the RN400 temperature transmitter product.

1. Description of ZEROLEAK temperature sensor

Film type temperature sensor RG41 supports two types of temperature sensor. The wiring method differs depending on the temperature sensor used.

  • NTC: Negative Temperature Coefficient
  • PT100 : A type of RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) sensor using platinum

In general, the bio and pharmaceutical industries use glycerin to make the sensor insensitive. RG41 sensor glycerinIt has been developed very insensitively so that it can be used without heat. It takes about 10 minutes for a 30 degree temperature change.

The RG41 Zeroleak film type temperature sensor has a very slow response time.

2. Installing the external sensor

1. Check the product – Check the USB connector (RG40) connected to the USB type sensor with yellow film, and the cable with the USB holder connected to the channel.

2. Sensor installation – After inserting the USB type sensor into the film type USB connector, install it with an appropriate fixing device where the temperature is to be measured.

3. Secure the connector - Secure the USB connector with double-sided tape or screws after the film-type wire is seated so that it is not folded or too tight.

3. Connecting Channels

3-1. Connecting the RN400 xxPS channel (NTC)

1. Channel Check – Sub model RN400 xxPS supports NTC type sensor. Check the TEMP NTC channel on the left side of the power supply on the internal terminal block.

2. Channel Connection – Insert the film-type USB connector into the connector of the channel connector, and insert the wire of the connector into the corresponding channel terminal.

Connect the red wire to the first terminal from the left of the corresponding channel and insert the white wire into the remaining terminals.

Two types of USB sensors, NTC and PT100, are installed inside, and the red wire is commonly used for both sensors.

3-2. Connecting RN400 xxEX channels (PT100)

1. Channel Check – Sub model RN400 xxEX supports PT100 and T/CK type sensors. Check TEMP 1ch and TEMP 2ch channels in the internal terminal block. The RN400 setting should be set to PT100 type.

Connect the red common wire to the first terminal from the left of the corresponding channel and insert and connect in the order of green and black.

* In general, in the PT100 3-wire type, except for the power line ( + ), the remaining ( – ) two lines do not have a fixed order. Here, I followed the order indicated on the tag of the connecting line.

4. Calibration method

For the most accurate use of ZEROALEAK temperature sensors, each must be individually calibrated. If you do not have a professional compensator, you can measure the temperature as accurately as possible by using the setting values below. The RN400 EX model is connected to a PC with a USB cable to change settings with the dedicated UA Calibrator software. RN400 T2PS model adjust OFFSET with product button.

4-1. When using PT400 -100 ℃ ~ 20 ℃ in RN20 EX model

As shown in the figure below, the Error Correction value is -0.52 ~ -0.76 Set it to appear. Sensitivity is set to 1, which is the lowest.

4-2. When using PT400 -100 ℃ ~ -80 ℃ in RN20 EX model

As shown in the figure below, the correction value is 0.47-Set it to 0.52. Sensitivity is set to 1, which is the lowest.

4-3. How to use as NTC on RN400 T2PS model

When using the RN400 T2PS product with RG41 Zerolea NTC connection, set the Offset. +26mVPlease set it to .
