Connecting the RN171 to a wired LAN

Thank you for purchasing the DEKIST RN171.

RN171 supports Ethernet-PoE and can use Telnet, ModbusBus/TCP and HTTP. Dedicated UA product (separate configuration) is basic 2CH, and supports external sensors such as 4-20mA, 0-1000mV, gas (other than volatile organic compounds).

1. Powering the RN171 (3 ways)

2. RN171 power and internet connection

  1. Product Check – Check the components listed in the guide.
  2. Power supply – After connecting the UA product to the device, connect PoE (LAN).
    • DC power: After connecting the LAN cable, connect the 6V DC adapter (adapter sold separately)
    • PoE Injector Power: If not PoE HUB (Injector sold separately)
  3. Power on – '8888' is displayed on the front screen and a buzzer sounds and power is applied.
  4. Get IP – After 'rn171' is displayed on the front screen, an IP is assigned from the router.
  5. Normal operation – The value of the sensor (UA product family) is displayed on the front screen.

All products are shipped with “DHCP ON” status as default.

3. Check the RN171 internet connection status

The Internet connection status is indicated by the color change of the LED located on the upper left of the front panel. If the LED flashes green and red, the Internet connection is normal.

  1. Error Symptom 1 (Red LED stays on)
    • LAN is physically connected, but there is no internet connection due to IP and firewall issues.
      If your network uses automatic IP (DHCP), You need to get a fixed IP from the computer team and set it on the product.
      If external Internet connection is not possible due to firewall settings, you must request 'firewall exception handling' from the security team.
    • By default, the device Radionode365.comIt is designed to transmit Additionally MODBUS/TCP, HTTPsupport. in individual software MODBUS/TCP, HTTPTo receive data using , you need to change the settings. '4. Refer to 'Entering the Console Menu'.
  2. Error Symptom 2 (Initial melody sound)
    • If the device is already registered with Radionode365. Duplicate device registration is absolutely not supported. Please log in to Radionode365 to check your device.
      If you have lost your product registration ID Contact the place of purchaseOr master@dekist.comPlease contact us.
  • The red LED and the initial melody sound basically reflect error symptoms 1 and 2. But, If it is out of the set measurement data rangeEven a red LED and an initial melody sound will work on the device.

4. Entering the Console Menu

  1. Access the website, download the Terminal Program and USB Driver, and install them on your PC. “RadioNodeTerm”Run it.
  2. LAN linepower lineAfter separating USB cableto connect the RN171 to the PC.
  3. Run the “RadioNodeTerm” program, and the window background is greenWhen it changes to , it is in a usable state.
  4. by keyboard “radionode114”Enter to enter the Console menu.

  • Console Menu
    1. Network Setup. [Network Settings]
    2. System Setup. [SYSTEM SETTING]
    3. Buzzer / Siren Setup. [Channel Alarm Setting]
    4. HTTP Destination Setup. HTTP Request Settings
    5. MODBUS TCP Setup. [MODBUS TCP Setting]
    6. Quit (Back to normal Operation) [Exit]

5. Setting a static IP

  1. Enter 'Network Setup.' in the console menu and select 'DHCP OFF'.
  2. Enter the IP Address, GATEWAY Address, DNS1, DNS2, and SUBNET MASK assigned by the in-house network manager correctly.
  3. Close the program normally and check the operation status.
